What Is the Descent?
Saturday 22nd August 18:00 to late
Stockholm
Descent is a structured, consent-led system for shared exploration, connection, and expression. It is not just a night out. It is a journey in which everything that happens is chosen, mutual, and held by a framework the room trusts.
Everything is chosen. Everything is mutual. Everything is structured.
It is a journey of exploration — a journey through Discovery, Descent, and Depth. Every person moves through Descent along their own arc. Those layers describe where a participant is in their own experience, not where the programme is in its sequence. A person can be in Discovery at any phase, or in Depth at their first event.
Nothing is imposed. Everything that happens is something each person is actively choosing — before, during, and after. How that is held in practice is set out in our Rules & Community Guidelines.
What Descent Is Not
- A space where things are done to people. Nothing is done to anyone. Experience is co-created, not delivered.
- A performance. There is no audience. Everyone in the room is a participant in the same thing, on their own terms.
- A transactional environment. No one is paying for intensity. No one is earning it by giving something up.
- Unsafe, improvised, or chaotic. It is designed. There is a framework, defined boundaries, a clear progression, and people whose role is to hold them.
- Something you complete. Descent is a journey. You move through it. You do not finish it.
The Three Phases
Descent runs on three phases that sit on top of one another. Understanding all three is what makes the programme legible. Each has its own article; what follows is the short version.
1. The Phases — what the room is doing
Descent is a three-phase programme. Each phase is a distinct chapter in the narrative arc, building on what came before and preparing for what comes next. The names — Depravity, Degradation, Degeneracy — are deliberate, meaningful, and deliberately provocative. Each names a chosen creative territory, not a description of harm.
- Phase One — Depravity. The moment you stop performing and allow desire to exist without filtering. Not a transgression. A permission. The act of acknowledging what was already there.
- Phase Two — Degradation. The exploration of vulnerability, power, and surrender inside trust. Not about being degraded — about choosing to explore vulnerability and intensity together. A gift, given freely, received with care.
- Phase Three — Degeneracy. Unapologetically real. The shedding of every layer of performance. Returning to something more fundamental: presence, connection, trust, being.

2. The Journey — what the participant is feeling
Discovery, Descent, Depth. Where you are inside your own experience, independent of which phase the programme has reached. Discovery is recognition and permission. Descent is the committed journey inward. Depth is arrival: the point at which participation becomes state.

3. The Principles — the tests every decision is held against
Mutual Participation. Structured Freedom. Shared Vulnerability. These are not slogans. A decision that honours all three is aligned. A decision that trades one off against another signals that something has slipped.

The Integrated Arc
The three phases are not separate frameworks running in parallel. They are three lenses on the same movement. Each stage of the arc is named three ways simultaneously.
| Stage | The act (Phase) | What happens inside (Layer) | What it produces (Value) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Depravity | Discovery | Openness |
| 2 | Degradation | Descent | Connection |
| 3 | Degeneracy | Depth | Trust |
You discover what you want; that's Depravity. You let it exist openly; that's Openness. You choose to go further; that's Degradation. You go inward; that's Descent. You find others there; that's Connection. You arrive; that's Degeneracy. You reach the bottom of yourself; that's Depth. And what you find there is Trust.
What Stays Constant
- Everything is chosen.
- Everything is mutual.
- Everything is structured.
- Nothing is random, nothing is imposed, nothing is assumed from attendance.
- The structure is what makes the depth possible, not what limits it.
- The consent language governs how every other phrase is to be read.
Where the Programme Is Now
Descent into Depravity 2 runs in Stockholm in August 2026. The Depravity phase continues: the room does not start over, and it does not rush ahead. Participants who attended the first event carry earned trust into this one. See our upcoming events or sign up here.
It's not about what you do. It's about what you become.
When nothing is hidden, nothing is forced, and everything is chosen, what becomes possible is not an experience. It is a self.
